Does anybody have access to the factory shop manual and who could tell me particulars or send me the page dealing with the fitting/adjustment of the brake light switch (and/or the brake pedal cruise switch). I put a new switch in over the weekend and I have just a wee bit of slop in the return of the pedal to its upward most position. As such, the brake light stays on occasionally if I don't just jiggle the pedal upward. I figure I'm off on the adjustment of either the light switch itself or the cruise switch, but don't know by how much.

Thanks

Solution: buy the manual your self. Get one specific to your year, and get the electrical trouble shooting manual also. These books will pay for themselves the first time you use it.

I accidently broke my cruise/brake switch. It took three attemps to get it adjusted correctly. I was ready to throw in the towel on the cruise control. But it worked on the third try.

Yep, that's the right answer. Only issue is that the manuals cost me 40% more than you guys plus brokerage, custom fees and taxes. I have the older manual, a Haynes for models up to '92 and a Disco manual, but none address my particular setup on the '93. Otherwise, my manuals provide me with enough info to get the job done.

Yeah, I keep that Hayne's manual in the truck for emergencys. Too bad they don't use real dollars in Canada. I once went to McDonadlds and gave them a $20 bill. I got ~$24 dollars in funny looking change.

There should be a 1mm gap between the cruise control switch and the brake "pedal". Not sure about the brake switch.

Thanks, that's what I think I really needed. If I recall correctly, the way I adjusted the cruise switch may be preventing the pedal from returning all the way. I'll check that out.

Yeah, I'd love a North American currency. But it was great when I first moved to Canada from Ohio. Bought a much nicer house with a sea view and got change back.

Thanks again,

Bill
