Just curious. Who makes the offroad videos that are for sale on DWeb? Is it professionally done with 3-chip cameras, or is it homegrown footage from various participants?

They are shot on a Sony VX2000, which as you probably know since you are asking the question, is a 3 chip camera. That in itself doesn't make it a "professional" production, as there are many other aspects to making a good video.

I'll leave it up to others to comment on what they think of the quality of the end result.

The sample footage looks decent IMO. I guess I was wondering if someone was hired to shoot the video - or if it's shot by offroaders and then edited professionally. I volunteered to do some shooting with our local LR group, but I'm no professional - and I know that professional editing can cost quite a bit. I hope to be able to put together some decent DVD's on my Mac. And since I've never done an "offroad" shoot, I'll need to plan ahead if I'm to get quality shots and such.

I'm going to buy one of the DWeb DVD's as soon as I get clearance from the spouse (I'm under house arrest when it comes to spending money lately!)

I just watched the Rubicon DVD for the first time on my big screen. I was really amazed with the quality of the video resolution. It's much better than Directv's picture quality.

Every time I watch the DVD, I still cringe when the 110 hits the door sill on the rock on the first obstacle.

I enjoy my Dweb DVD's very much as well. They hold an honored place in my DVD/Video collection-right next to my "Band of Brothers" DVD collection and "The Andy Griffith Show" DVD collection. :-)

I too, cringed when the 110 sill slides onto the rock.

I do NOT like the "to be continued" ending on Rubicon. Know any Norwegian swear words?

Rubicon. They just keep getting better in shooting style and editing with every new video that comes out I think.
