I took apart my cup holder that slides out of my 98 Disco. It was easy to take out, now it's a BITCH to put in. Any suggestions? |

I have the same problem. The spring has to be lined up perfectly otherwise it'll jam. |

Faced with this same problem, I took mine out, removed the spring and replaced it. It works the same you just have to exert a little more energy to pull it out by hand now. Tucks away exactly the same. A little more durable, relative to the sub-par design. |

Cup holder is a royal pain to get back in... I hooked the spring up against the rotating alignment pin on the top of the opening. This usually will get the spring in the right position when you push the cup holder in. It will take a few tries... Believe me, putting the cup holder back in has been one of the most difficult things I've ever had to fix on my disco! -justin |

It took me a while but I was able to fix it and place it back in with no problems. Of course it broke again 2 weeks later. Anyone know where we could get a new spring? |

Eric, You are having trouble putting the cup holder back together correct? Not just installing unit back in the console?

I'm having problems putting the unit back into the console. I snaped the two tabs that keeps it in place, but I was thinking about glueing it in there (at least the main part |
