Hey guys need some help here. Popped the guage panel out to change a bulb and my temp needle fell off. Put the needle back on, but it won't move. I can't tell if the needle actually broke off, and it can't be put back on. Does anyone have any experience with this?? Do I have to replace this guage. This seems to have an important guage to have!!! |

it won't move when you try to manually move it, or it won't move off of "cold" when you know the engine is warmed up? |

You will need to have engine at normal op temp. Then put neele back on in its normall spot. I thnk gauge is mech biased so will be loaded when cold. bazzle |

update: I pulled the guage panel back out again last night after driving the truck & warming it up. It looks like I definitely broke the temp guage while messing with the bulbs. There is a tiny metal shaft that the needle sits on & it looks like it has snapped in the middle. The needle is still connected to the half that broke off. Anyone know where I can order one of these & solder it in?? It looks like it would be an easy solder job, but it would probably have to be the exact guage. I'm going to call the dealer in a while for a price, but would like to avoid paying their prices. Bazzle - I'm going to try one more time w/ your method but as far as I can see I have snapped the metal shaft. A word to the wise if you have your guage panel out be very careful bc you can snap one of these pretty easily.... |
