My passenger side a/c will not blow cold air. It does blow cool air while the driver side is ice cold. I wouldn't usually worry about this as the wife sits over there but lately I've had the dog riding shotgun.

I took the center dash off and checked the cables and linkages but they seemed to be working fine.

I'm under the impression that this is controlled electrically as well as mechanically in the swirch housing. Is it possible I need to replace the switch? My manual uses words like "passenger maximum cool switch" and it seems this is in the housing.

Thanks for any ideas
Brent

This has been a problem for us on our '94 for as long as we have had it. The pass side is about 1/2 the temp as the driver side. We dont run the AC much so it has not been high on the list of things to mess with....but I was going to see if I could solve the problem in the next few weeks when I install a new dash I got out of a wrecked Disco. If you find the source of the problem...please post!

Dave,
The problem doesn't seem to be the mechanical linkages. The passenger side linkages and cables are doing the exact same things as the drivers side.
I'll post if I figure anything out.

If you can get one with the new dash, I'd be curious to see if a new switch would change anything.

I suspect that the flap controlling air to the heater matrix doesn't close properly.....so bleeds heated air into the truck
I have a similar problem...a/c gets a near constant work out
Like oil leaks "they all do that sir"

Same thing happened to my DII. My freon gas was low and needed to be recharged. That fixed the problem asap. You also might to make sure that the drain under the passenger side is not clogged. Sometime water stays in there and heats up the air on that side. The drain is a small nipple under the passenger side.
