I am having trouble with the rear door on my 96 discovery. I can not open the door. When I try to use the handle, it feels as though it is stuck in the "open" position. If any one knows how to fix the problem could you please help me out. Thanks, Kevin |

Pop the logo off the rear door handle first by sticking a small flat blade screwdriver in the slot at the bottom of the oval. Then squirt some white lithium grease on the mechanism. I wouldn't use any oil-based lubricant. With the logo off you should be able to squirt into the mechanism parts that are behind the door panel. Work it a few times and get it operating again, and make sure you lube it every oil change to avoid a repeat episode. |

Happened to me recently on vacation of all times. Small tiny spring in the lock mechanism broke. Had to buy a new one and installed it myself. It's tricky but can be done if you are patient. |
