Yeah...so this is a bit embarrassing but I figured I ask this sites opinion of damn near everything else...so why not this? So my business is buying me a PDA (something about a last ditch effort to make me even a little productive...not sure..I wasn't really listening) I've been in a toss up between the Sony Clie PG/NX80V or a Pocket PC like toshiba or something.. just curious if someone had any strong opinions... |

My 2 year old was jumping up and down on my bag and my Palm was destroyed. What a great thing to happen! I just replaced it with an HP Ipaq 2215. What an amazing device. The HP 2215 and up use the new 400Mhz X-Scale processor and this thing flies! I have used about every variant of PDA since the Palm was first introduced. I went Palm, WinCE, then back to Palm because of the simplified and elegant format. However, the new Pocket PC's are truly amazing and do quite a bit more. After a little research, it was apparent that the HP 2215 and better models are the way to go. Even the 1900 series is good if budget is a concern. |

I've had the old HP, I now have the new Toshiba, based on friends units, I would go with the new IPaq. Toshiba just has too many problems... |

I just got an HP2215 for my B-day and it's pretty awesome. Operation is super intuitive if you've been bred on PC's, it comes stock with 64MB ram and has dual expansion slots; CF and SD so you can upgrade the memory significantly and plug in a peripheral device (like a modem, for example). It also has Bluetooth, which is cool if you travel because you don't have to carry around the bulky docking station to synch with your laptop. Best of all, it's pretty affordable considering everthing that it has (~$400).

Devin, Ain't it cool? I am running an addition 256M SD card in one slot and my 802.11b card in the CF. I can go to clients and run programs off thier server via Terminal Services. Then I can go home and surf the net or check email. Same with anywhere there is a Blutooth PAN. Truly amazing. |

Yeah, Curtis, The thing is very cool. I had really been prepared to deal with a device that would require "extra" time to maintain it's usefulness, but I've been really pleased at how flexible it is with all of the options and how well it integrates. |

Check out the Dell handheld. For the money by far the best one on the market. I've had an Ipaq for a couple of years. What a great little device. Go with a pocket pc, it smokes the palm devices. |

"Check out the Dell handheld. For the money by far the best one on the market." Two BIG problems with the Dell. First: it IS big. Second: only one expansion slot in SD style. The new iPaq2215h has both SD and CF slots. If you are just looking for a basic PDA then this is no big deal. However, if that were the case a $130 Palm would do just fine. |

Juan- The 7135 works pretty well for me. Add a serial cable and an Auterra OBDII program http://www.auterraweb.com/index.html and you can diagnose your problem while waiting for the tow truck you just called. -Reed |

Well...while I dig the pocket PC's my office kinda tied me into a Palm OS (since they're paying for it they think they have some sort of say in it...) I ordered the Sony Clie/Nx80something... but I didn't know that I would be able to get software to plug into the rover...hmmm...the guys from Autozone are going to miss me... Thanks for all the information. This has only bolstered my belief that there is not an answer (or opinion) that doesn't exist within this site!
