My 2000 DII rear turn signal light has a yellow and red lens. Both sides have bulbs but only the turn signal turns on. What's the deal with the red side? Is this just mine or has anyone else noticed this too?

only when the rear foglamps are turned on should both the yellow and red lights on each side of the bumper be illuminated

Are your rear turn signals set into the bumper with a red and yellow light on each side?
They are on my 2001 D2 and those lights only stay illuminated (solid) when the switch to the left of the steering wheel is on. Otherwise, the function only as turn signal/hazards.

the switch just below the front foglight switch that looks almost exactly like the front foglight switch...push it and see what happens.

you can't be afraid to push buttons...even the ones you don't understand.

on the left side of your instrument panel, there are 4 buttons, right? the top is the front fog light. do you have front fogs? the second one down is for the rear fogs (the red lights on the bumper). turn the ignition switch on and the headlights or fog lights and then, press the button.

on my 2001, it is all on page 55 of the owners manual.

yeah...rovers can be pretty strange. but if you think the lights are strange, then get ready for the real oddities...

Since you signed up for a user name with discoweb, the discoweb fairies snuck in your driveway last night and installed the rear fog lamps...

Sorry to stray off topic here, just can't resist. (blush) ... LOL, You know, the legend of "The Rover Fairies" is true ...

Once upon a time, (last January), I did a a very bad thing to my D2's rear bumper (AGAIN). I thought to myself, "Well this time you've really done it. You're going to have to buy a new (HD) bumper for sure right now - Don't see how this is going to get fixed (again)." ... The next morning, I awoke, and crawled out of my tent to find that "the good bumper fairy" had visited! I couldn't believe the magic that was worked on that previously mangled bumper! ... And, my rear fogs still work! :-)

You welcome, Glenn. You know me, always willing to help out where I can ;).

All is well on our end. Been busy as heck, and out a lot. Haven't really been able to check in on a consistant basis. Always good to see and hear from the Discoweb friends, thanks. :-)

Its not a rear fog light, its a "don't follow so closely" button. When someone just won't get off your bumper, just tap the button, and it magically makes then slow down. And then they wonder how your still driving while maintaining a foot on the brake.

Almost all european cars have rear fog lights. Most companies put them on one or the other side making it look like a bulb is out. The rear fog light is generally really bright though. Land Rover has decided to add them to both sides, making them look like brake lights when on - maybe its becuase of the English fog.

The rear fog lamp is a standard item on all Rovers. The front lamps are another story.

The buttons on the left side are blank except for the top one that has the light looking symbol. The lights on mine dont turn on.

That button is for the rear fog lamps, you wouldn't have front fog lamps if you have the lowest trim level (S, SD, etc). However, the rear lamps should turn on when that switch is activated - if not, something is wrong.

Check the bulbs and fuses. Maybe they've been blown.

I can't remember, but do you have to have the headlights on to have the fog lights come on?
