Yeah, I know. It is a little outdated. I've got a few more things to do then I can put in the updates.

After talking w/ Bill at length. I went with the 4.75's. With my tire size, I think this will give me the best performance both on road and off.

There are some strength issues with this ratio, but with my driving style and the terrain I drive on (slippery east coast stuff as compared to 100% traction on slick rock out west), I felt these would be fine. Time will tell.

Wow you went deeep,, that is awsome. A friend of mine put 4.88's in an FJ60 and it made a huge improvement,, it sees mostly trails due to its age and he has had no breakage yet at least in gears themselves. Will they be in by MAR??

I'm hoping so. Closing on a house Monday, so we'll see if I can get some time devoted to the install. For some reason my wife seems to think that the house has priority over the gear install. What is she thinking???

Well, my friend and I spent almost 12 hours yesterday working on my truck, and we only got the rear gears and axles in. Of course, 2.5 hours were spent trying to find a place that could press the pinion bearing off, another 1.5 hours was spent trying to get the pinion depth set, and almost 2 hours getting the front driveshaft off so I could drive home!!! I HATE the bolts for the d-shafts. Not quite 9/16ths and not quite 14mm. I'm definitely replacing those when I put it back on.

Anyway, early results are the truck drives much better. Feels like it shed 500 lbs. No downshift on hills and will maintain speed on inclines. Overall a definite improvement.

With my 35's the engine is turning a little more than it would with a stock setup, but I'd rather have that than it lugging. I'm glad that I went with the 4.75's as opposed to the 4.10's.
