I am trying to wire my roof rach lights and would like to use the factory switch locations. I pulled the dash switch blanks to the left of the heater controls out (where the hazard switch is). There is factory wiring for the windscreen heater and for the rear leveling. (My truck has neither.) I have the dash switches but I do not seem to have power to them. There are empty relay outlets in the fuse box under the hood... related? Once I get power to the switch... and to the plugs on the cowl, do I need to run a relay from that plug or can I power straight to my roof rack lights? Or... should I bail on the idea of using the factory harness for my lights? |

I'd use a factory switch in that spot, but I wouldn't try to use the factory harness. |

The question I would wonder is why do you have switches for SLS & a windscreen heater if you have neither? The models that did not come with these have switch blanks in that location...not switches. It woulds like yours may have had them, but had the air springs swapped out for steel. The windscreen may have also been changed for a non-heated one. I am guessing there was a previous owner... Anyways, the problem with the factory fog light switch is that it is a relayed switch that (I believe) runs to the ECU. Definitely not your standard on-off swith. I have heard of folks using a factory on-off swith in that location though but which one it is escapes me. If I were not so tired I would actually walk outside and tell you, but instead I will leave that to you. Just look for a switch that fits that panel, is factory, and is a self-contaned on-off switch. If you can't locate it is that panel than use the one to the left of the steering column. Curtis |

On the D2 the ONLY switch which is push on/push off and has a light is the Cruise control master. All the others (with lights are ones to signal the ECU's and just send a pulse when pushed) The rear windscreen wiper is also an on/off switch but has no light |
