Peter, my discos were blessed as well. Our yard is covered with limbs and not a scratch on either truck. I've a funny hurricane story but I think I'll wait to tell it at MAR.

I spent the hurricane driving about and pulling idiots out of the water here in greenville, so Misty was safe. I am constantly amazed at the kinds of cars I pull out of swift moving floodwaters, kind of makes you wonder what the hell they were thinking.

My neighborhood was trashed though. No big deal, but most of my neighbors are elderly, so Bob and I spent the day cleaning up everyone's yards. Those pine needles and branches got everywhere! The whole place smelled like a damn christmas tree.

Cheers,

Kennith

Hurricane wasn't bad-aftermath is starting to wear thin. We had some significant tree damage in Nofolk, some flooding that quickly receded. Now we're mainly just living without power. Which wouldn't be bad, except other buildings in my apartment complex have power-just not mine. I'm seriously contemplating getting a couple more extension cords and taking power from the little clubhouse in our courtyard, where I can look out of my cave and see the F'in soda machine bright and cheery.

Hope everyone else did ok.

Glad to hear the damage was so minot Peter. We were without power from Noon Friday (neighbors tree fell on the power line) til late Saturday. Had three sections of wood fence blow down....thats it for me! Biggest issue was the cancelation of the Snorkel Install Day at my house due to the lack of power! Hope you guys had fun in the Barrens yesterday!!

Elizabeth City got hit pretty bad but My house did OK. Lost most of my shingles and some minor damage to the siding but overall not bad because I had no trees near the house. Edenton however is a total disaster. We just got power and have water in my development but everyone west of E-City all the way to Bertie county is out of power, phones & water. There are so many power lines down from all the trees that they estimate it will be al least two to three weeks before most power is restored. Water will most likely be a few more days. I must say the Red Cross and National Guard are doing a great job distributing water and food. I spent the last three days hualing tree limbs in the trailer jut to clear the roads so we can get in and out of town. Getting gas at the few gas stations that are open and getting home before curfew can be tricky at times. Lots of these people are pretty bad off and we are greatfull to still have our home and be able to help those around us without power and water.

Peace out,
GG

Hey Kenneth, you don't by any chance have a dark green Disco, around Windsor subdivision? I am from G-Vegas also. I am driving a willow green D90 SW while I work on getting my 90 ST back together.

Chris,

Nope, I have a silver Disco II. 2" OME with BFG mudders. Trek Outfitters, DiscoWeb, And Amsoil stickers. I had just installed a snorkle before the storm. Seen you about though. Shot a couple of waves but you must not have seen me. :-)

Cheers,

Kennith

I think I have seen you before at the Trade Mart on 33, at the Simpson turn-off. Blacked-out hood? Sorry for not waving man. If you see me driving around town, my mind is probably on about 1 million other things at that moment.

Kennith, I'm guessing that's Greenville NC. I was just perusing the English dept faculty list at ECU (my sister and bro-in-law teach there) and saw your last name - wife perhaps?

Don't know why it stuck a chord, I guess your unique last name stuck w/ me for some inexplicable reason.

My sister said damage in Greenville was minimal and the storm wasn't bad, which is a relief to hear. She did say Washington (?) nearby really got hammered.

Late to the post-hurricane party here, but we were without real power for over five days. Thank god we have significant generator power, it made things bearable, particularly since we have nearly a dozen horses to keep in oats and water. To add insult to injury, my cable modem only got repaired today, horrors! (G) Our farm had serious damage. We're still pulling out of the dive. I have a few good pictures I could share if anyone is still interested.

Hell yes Karen lets see some pics. Greenville didn't get it to bad but everywhere around it got hammered. Where were you in the grand scheme of things?

This concludes my current statement
