"We've put emphasis on enhancing content and value, especially on Discovery and Freelander," said Richard Beattie, executive vice president, Marketing and Sales, Jaguar and Land Rover North America. RANGE ROVER The HSE model continues as the mainstay of the Range Rover line. For 2004 it carries a manufacturer's suggested retail price of $72,250, an increase of $385. Two new leather seat colors -- Aspen and Navy -- have been added along with two new exterior colors -- Alveston Red and Maya Gold. 2004 sees the debut of the first Limited Edition of the Range Rover, the Westminster. The elegant vehicle is finished in Java Black pearlescent paint and features black interior wood trim to complement the jet black leather seats. An additional exterior finished in Bonatti Gray will also be available for Westminster in limited numbers. The MSRP for the Westminster edition is $84,000. Only two options are available on the HSE: the $5,000 Luxury Interior package and the Heated Accessories package, which retails separately at $1,300. Both features are standard on Westminster. DISCOVERY For 2004, Discovery's capability and value are both enhanced to keep it a leader in the midsize SUV sector. A manually locking center differential is now standard and, combined with four-wheel electronic traction control; make this most capable Discovery ever built. In addition, a new 'Aero' Roof Rail System has been added along with three new exterior paint colors: Adriatic Blue (replaces Oslo) Giverny Green and Maya Gold. The Discovery "S" is well equipped at a manufacturer's suggested retail price of $34,995. Pricing for the SE will be $39,250 and $41,250 for the HSE. The new prices reflect the key enhancements added as standard equipment and include $665 destination and delivery charge, which is a slight increase from last year's $645 destination and delivery figure. A limited production version of Discovery inspired by the inaugural Land Rover G4 Challenge global adventure is also available. The G4 Edition will have a MSRP of $39,995. FREELANDER A striking new front-end design inspired by Range Rover and a fresh new interior are the most obvious of the many changes designed to build Freelander appeal, enhance the ownership experience and increase overall value. Land Rover has reconfigured the Freelander offerings for 2004 by dropping the entry level "S" model and increasing content and the price/value of the SE and HSE variants. The 2004 Freelander will be available in two models: the SE with an MSRP of $25,995 and the HSE at $28,995. The SE3, three-door model with removable hardtop, will carryover its 2003 pricing and remain at $26,995, but will now feature a standard in-dash 6-disc CD changer and integrated fog lamps. "The 2004 Freelander has the most significant improvements to the vehicle since its European introduction in 1997," said Richard Beattie, executive vice president, Marketing and Sales, Jaguar and Land Rover North America. "The improvement in this Land Rover's value and its appeal to urban drivers who want all-wheel drive security in a compact package, gives us the perfect opportunity to realign and simplify the model line-up." With over 15,000 Freelanders sold in North America last year, Land Rover increased its sales performance in the U.S. by 52 per cent.
