What I have:
recently purchased 1990 RRC ('91 GDE) that was lifted by the PO, OME springs and shocks, poly bushes. Have the typical resulting issues, steering and driveline vibration.

Took the truck to BCS and spoke with David and Stephen, the D2 shaft won't work on the BWTC, damn.

So researched the options, GBR, Tom Woods, Driveline Eng.... Have a neighbor with a lifted Jeep with a Woods double cardan shaft, very smooth, works great. Called and spoke to Tom about the shafts for RR's: was impressed with his engineering, dynamic balancing program and quality of components etc... as well as his 24 hour turnaround.

Ended up ordering a double double (no, not a burger) drive shaft, with a DC on each end. Comes with an adaptor for each end. Installed on Monday, man, what a difference! No vibes, no grinding sound, much smoother all round.

Glad your problem was fixed. I have not tried the double/double DS myself. Have already pissed away too much money on parts trying to fix DS vibration.

You can use the Discovery2 DS if you make your own adapter, or use the TC output flange from the D2 as well. I got a slightly used DS($125, thank you Will) and made my own adapter. The LR DS also had four balancing weights on it welded in three places.

The following is not intended to hurt Tom Woods; just relating a portion of my frustrating experiences. I do not blame anyone other than myself: Three atempts with the Tom Woods DS only lessened my vibes. And in all 3 attempts it had the same quarter size weight welded on to it in the same general location.

One day I decided to drive to drive to the mountains with my own weight strapped to the TW DS. I used two hose clamps to clamp weights in various positions on the drive shaft. I stopped about every 20 miles on the highway to adjust the weight and location. After about 10 stops I had a smooth running DS.

Also TW never supplied me with the correct length DS. It's as though they only make it to fit the Discovery(the DS to fit the BW is supposed to be 1.5" longer). But in their defense, I think there is so much spline engagement anyway, that it is not a problem. And again I blame myself for not insisting on a longer length, and not checking the compressed length when it arrived.

If only I could think of a way to try that double/double without spending any more money!
