Did a little offroading the other day and i noticed when i would get stuck in a spot with the diff locked, only one wheel would spin and no others would break lose. It was the drivers side front tire is the only one that would spin. but my rover would not move a inch of the obstical witch i shouldnt have had to much trouble with. My friend noticed one when i was going up a hill only one side would spin and the other didnt budge. Is this normal i assumed something wasnt working right but im not sure. any adivce would help. thanks JMB |

hmmm if only one wheel on the whole truck was moving your center wasnt locked. otherwise you need to get lockers. No stock rover is really 4wd. this has been talked about in the past search the archives |

Diff not locked or a broken axle possibly. Are you sure one wheel on the other axle wasn't just up against something and getting power, but not spinning? Bill |

Many times on my Disco the CDL will slip out. This happens quite often if you do not take the shifter out of gear (into nuetral) then into lock. So typically when I offroad, I go into low gear. I take it out of open high into nuetral (required to go into low), then into low lock. Even if I am going from high to high lock, I take it out of gear and into high lock. Then it does not slip out. |
