Awhile back there was a link to a site where someone had photographed their lighting installation. It had photos of the relays in the engine compartment, interior dash, the way it ran up the Apillar liner and mounted to the adventure rack.

Can someone please point me back to this site?

Thanks!

Was there a particular question you had? I have a very similar setup, and would be more than happy to answer any of your questions.

Ron,
I have two questions. Did you make your own harness? Where did you go through the fire wall?

Jay and the Toad Man,

I sent you guys a small powerpoint that contains a couple of pics.

Toad,

It is easy to make your own harnesses once you have the relays. But, it's even easier if you buy Hella Harnesses and Relays. :-) I went through 2 firewalls: #1 in the cockpit, forward section (where your left foot normally rests) there is a rubber grommet that you can pass wires through. #2 There is a manufactured hole at the firewall located 5 inches in front of your A-Pillar fairing bottom. Pull the black sticker off of it and you will see it.

Both of you guys need to dig into the archives to find what you are looking for. Last time I searched for "lights", I found 149 matches.

Also check out the tech section under lighting. Greg Parrish has an awesome diagram for your harnesses.

Have a nice day,

Paul

Jay,
Most people do make their own harness...a few relays, fuses and switches and you'll be fine.
On a DII (I'm not sure what truck you have)you can pass through the firewall on the drivers side above the brake. You'll find a rubber gromet with the main wireing harness, you can pass through there.

Well Toad,

You are out of luck. Hotmail said the file is too big.

Sorry.

Traveltoad,

I used the hella harness for the relay and the plug, the rest of the wiring was all my doing. I have been told you can find a plug for the hella relay, but not being able to locate one I purchased the harness.

I ran my wires from the rack (one positive one negative for each pair) down the pass. side pillar (what a pain) under the molding passing through the empty void between the windshield and engine compartment, and finally through a hole in the firewall, straight to the battery (compartment holds four relays real nice right next to my yellow top). From my relays I ran back from the battery area to the pass. side firewall, across the firewall along the existing harness down into an existing hole in the Dri. side. This should place you right behind the dash and then it’s up to you where you locate the switch or switches.
