For my D1, I already have OME HD springs for the front and rear with a set of Bilstein shocks (not installed yet). I also have the D1 with a rear u-joint drive shaft (no rotoflex). What I am trying to determine prior to installing everything is if I also installed these HD's with 1" spacers in both front and rear would the front end sit noticeably higher than the rear (and look strange)? If it does sit noticeably higher in the front with spacers all around, will it even itself back out once I install a heavy duty front bumper? (i.e. ARB, TJM, Adeofab) Just trying to make sure I know before I buy the RT front spacers (the ones that mount the shock through the spacer). |

I have the same set-up but with an RRC, basically the same as a D1. The front end will not be higher than the rear with or without a hd bumper. It is the other way around, the rear usually sits about 1/2" to 1" higher than the front to account for rear loading. |

Where to get front spacers? Most that I read about are for rear only. |

I have Mike Ku's front 1" spacers with shock relocation bracket: http://mku.dhs.org/discovery/ and made some for the rear using this info: http://www.discoweb.org/ome3/spacer.htm Rovertym also has some: http://www.rovertym.com/spacers.htm |

I have a set of 2" front spacers from Rovertym with the top of spacer mounting plate(so you don't lose down travel). It's kinda like a drop kit for the front. I'll be bringing them to MAR to sell/swap along with some other goodies (bilstein shocks, cargo cover, etc.) |

I've got the OME HD springs with a winch bumper. I'm putting spacers all around this weekend. I'll post pics if you want them. BTW, I made my spacers. Cost about $30 and took about 30 minutes. All you need is a drill press. Brent |

I have 2003 Disco. I want to put a two or three inch lift on it with the OME springs and spacers. Does anyone know if it increases the wear on your driveshaft? I have a friend who has a '99 disco. He has around 65k miles and has had to replace a driveshaft. He just has the springs, no spacers. I was wondering if there is a correlation between the lift and his driveshaft needing to be replaced? What are your thoughts? |

I'm putting Emu H.D.spring's on this week and was advised that putting the spacers on my disco is unnecessary and it's just going to be a weak link in the way the springs are set up and that there are much safer ways to lift a Landy thanks |

Okay, I finally got to my spacer install. Here's what I found out. As Alan posted the rear does set about 1/2" higher than the front and on my Disco the rear actually set closer to 1" higher with the weight of the ARB and winch. To offset this I added 1" spacers up front and 1/2" spacers in the rear. It gives my truck a pretty balanced look. As soon as I find the cable for my digi camera I'll post some pictures. Brent |

you would be creating a weak-link if you put the spacers on the front.it is because the shock is installed with-in the spring thus so creating a pressure point upon the shaft of each shock when the springs are flexing thus pressure is placed upon the shafts on your front shocks where they hook up with the spacers creating this possible weak link and snap.you loose a shock. **NOTE- this is what I was just told by http://atlanticbritish.com by Lester and one other of the guy's. you can go with med emu rears on your front and replace the rears with hd emu rear.??? does this make any sense either? I ran my shocks through my spacers. They bolt in at the standard location. I beat the hell out of my truck on some very nice trails this weekend and had no problems. |
