Need any possible recommendations/suggestion on camping sites on L Hartwell.

Needs to have boat access.

I've stayed on the GA side near Toccoa. Tugaloo State Park I believe. It has a boat ramp and the sites are pretty nice.

Clemson side has some decent spots and many boat access points too. SPent many a day and night in and around that lake, but never ate the fish. Not sure if you can eat 'em these days or not.

LOL Mike. I think I would have went hungry with my fishing luck! :-)

Another lake I would recommend upstream is Lake Jocassee. Very beautiful with mountainous surroundings. Clear water and some waterfalls coming directly into it. Not as crowded especially during the week.

Oh yeah, Jocassee, isolated, somewhat remote, steep banks, very nice, right on the foothills trail as I recall. I spent a lot of time in the those foothills, figured a lot of things out. Funny, I didn't learn about Oconee? nuclear power plant until my senior year! 10 miles from campus.

I wonder if Duke Power is still running those "perpetual energy" experiments up there?

Jocassee looks nice. I wonder how the fishing is up there?

You guys need to come a little farther north. Come up to the Chatahoochee Natl. Forest and Lake Chatuge/ Hiawassee/ Helen area. If you like big crappie- this has been the best year we've ever had! Some good spots up here- some not so nice. Leaves will be turning in next two weeks- watch out for the "leaf lookers." Will probably have our first frost tommorow on the mountain tops.
