My FJ80 uses grease in the Birfields (Toyota's name for CV) so why don't more people use regular grease in the RR CVs instead of 90 wet oil or One shots? In the Toy manual, they say to simply clean our old grease, and stuff new grease in the ball/cage and put it back in service. I know of one one person who uses grease in his TD5 rock crawler. Why not? |

i put grease in my disco when i had it and my range rover now. if you go into water often then you might like the convenience of oil for draining. i like the nonleaking of the grease.

agree with RD on this issue. had 90wt in the RR and even with new seals, there still was some seeping. both LRs now have grease in them. more important is having something in there and keeping it uncontaminated.
