Hey, I saw a Disco with the hood up on ABC last night, some guy was on a cell phone and it seemed that they were noting how long he was on hold or something. Problem is that I was at a bar, so I couldn't hear anything over the terrible open mike night. What was the show all about. | ||

There's a commercial for some anti-arthritis medicine where two guys take a 110 to the beach with surfboards attached to the roofrack... Are we gonna do that thread again? Rovers in the movies, on TV, etc.? Andy | ||

Hey I saw that commercial you're talking about Andrew. I almost fell off my chair when I saw that. Took me a few seconds to realize what I was looking at as I almost never see Defenders or Series trucks in commercials. There's that other cleaning solution (swiffer??) commercial where that Australian fellow comes bounding out of an old Series truck with his floor cleaner to save the day. They've cut the commercial now to only show the guy coming through the door but when they first ran the commercial you could see him drive up out of the jungle in the truck. The rest of the commercial I didn't really care about but I thought that part was cool. | ||

Did anyone else watch the combat sniper challenge on OLN? There was this team of two brits using an Accuracy International and a SA80 who came in last place supposedly because of "unfamiliar ammunition". Anyways, when it was all said an done they packed up and left... in a white disco with a rack and lights and whatnot. They may have come in last, but at least they had the AI and the rover!!! | ||

Wed. pm I watched Meguir's "Car Crazy". It was a half hour long special on Fords. They were discussing how Ford has come a long way and then what the future holds. At the very end of the show they were showing all of the latest Ford vehicles, with the music montague, etc. and low and behold...They showed a Disco II going over some hill. Then they showed a couple of more Ford products and the show ended. | ||

I stand corrected -- I saw that commercial with the 110 earlier today and it's for Zocor, which (I believe) is a cholesterol pill. I'll be on it in about 6 months, and look forward to (1) surfing and (2) driving my 110 to surf. | ||
