My D2 has OMD HD front springs with about a 1 1/2 inch lift. Recently my ACE pipes near the pump have been rattling at approx 1200 RPM. This noise has been getting steadily louder. Today LR replaced the pump but the noise is still there (a little quieter). LR states this is likely a result of the lift and don't think it is anything to worry about. I find this hard to believe. Right now the noise is about as loud as a loose heat shield when I am idling ie/ very noticeable. Anyone else have a similar experience or opinions? Jason ROXS 47 |

Jason, My ACE pipes have made a vibrating noise from when the vehicle was completely stock. When I inquired about this I was told that it is common and the insinuation was that there is no real permanent fix. I've let this go only because it only seems to be at a low RPM range and mostly at start up. I've inspected the pipes and mounting myself and can find nothing out of place, but can see that they could easily vibrate with the sound resonating on the chassis. The ACE system itself has been working fine, even after significant suspension mods. I anyone else finds that there is a fix for the noise, I'd be happy to hear it. |

I just picked up my truck from the dealer for a stater issue (small) and I asked them to inspect my ACE pump. I'm wasn't sure if it was me, but I thought the pump was getting louder. "I'm soon out of warentee so EVERTHING sounds suspisious" They said the pump was fine but they did follow the "service advisory notice" that was sent to the dealers RE: ACE noise. ....Hmmmm. not a recall, but an admision of a noise problem. Apperenty the notice tells them to check and adjust the whole system...I know this doesn't help you, but it's something to think about. kinda... Carl |
