Hi- the Fault Codes for the 4.0liter engines are posted on the Tech boards..... Does anybody know the codes for the 3.9l engines- specifically a "48" code?? is this the same "stepper motor" fault as for the 4.0 engines?? If you can help, please post!! I'm up in the mountains and my Electrics and Repair manuals are at home- 5 hours form here..... If you can also give a quick rundown of the repair procedures, that would be great...... Tim, There's a complete OBD I fault code list here: http://www.pangaea-expeditions.com/tech.html The code 48 lists as a stepper motor fault. Check base idle speed. Thanks you Nathan for the link to the OBD I fault codes...... I printed them and will add them to my repair manuals..... However, I won't have access to my manuals for another 10-12 days or so..... can anybody out there send me the continuity procedures for the Stepper Motor 48 Fault Code??? Never again will I travel away for a great length of time w/out my manuals............. Where is/what is the stepper motor? have to admit that as long as I have been turning wrenches on my own US/German, now my 95 Disco since new, I've never heard of a stepper motor..... is it something from the Dark Side-(Lucas)????..... thanks- Tim |
