Make : LAND ROVER Model : DISCOVERY Year : 2003

Component: VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL:CABLES
Potential Number Of Units Affected : 291
Summary:

Remedy:
DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE THROTTLE BODY. OWNER NOTIFICATION IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN DURING APRIL 2003. OWNERS WHO TAKE THEIR VEHICLES TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER ON AN AGREED UPON SERVICE DATE AND DO NOT RECEIVE THE FREE REMEDY WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME SHOULD CONTACT LAND ROVER AT 1-201-818-8500.

There was a recall on the throttle cables for earlier D2's in 2002. Despite having the recall done on my '00, i still had my throttle stick. Official land rover response, was no eveidence of a problem, so nothing was done under warranty. I suggest everyone going to their dealers and checking for this.

"291"

There were a very, very few 03 discos effected.

As far as throttle sticking it is quite common on series Is if you let crap build up on the linkage (ie you wheel in mud). Sucker just sticks open. DIIs I have no knowledge of throttle sticking open.
