So I just finished installing a variation of the 3" OME lift. I have a double cardan front drive shaft, and as I had figured, the front swaybar is only about 1/4 inch away from hitting the front drive shaft (with the new springs installed).
I'm going to try and make some spacers to go between the swaybar mounts and the frame. But I figured I would check to see if anyone else has been through this, and is there anyone making a spacer for the front swaybar already ?

Thanks, John

Hey John,
Go to the tech section and look under the "swaybar quick disconnects" topic (near the top). There are some pictures of a spacer that Aedofab made. Contact them and they could probably make some for you.

On the D1 the sway bars are almost useless. I would simply remove them and fuhgettaboutit.

Since I bought my "96 disco 2 years ago I have learned a lot.
Now I'm up-gradeing from Med.EMU Springs now to the H.D.Springs with EMU shocks.Getting ready to cut my wheel wells and as soon as my new Tire's go on I'm removing my front & rear sway bars and selling them. After all the research I agree with the above statements.
Remember!?! There's not much that you can do to a Discovery 1 compaired to the Descovery 2.The difference is night & day in this Landy Owner's opinion.
Thank's for all the help ,knowledge and advise on my Discovery 1 people. It's been a learning adventure so far.

I may be missing your request, but most people use an extended sway bar link as opposed to a spacer to drop the sway bar mounts down. Most of the companies with quick disconnects offer extended links. FWIW.

Thanks for the information, I have contacted Aedofab.

Mark, The issue is that the front driveshaft actually rest on the cross section of the swaybar. Have a look at the tech section referenced above. There is a good picture of the situation. What I am looking to do is 'drop' the swaybar down lower, where it mounts to the frame, to make more room for the driveshaft to move up and down wiht the suspension travel.
Thanks again, John

I was missing the point. I see what you mean from some pictures on the Aedofab site. Although it's kind of a DI vs. DII thing as to front sway bar interference with the drive shaft.
