Ok Guy's,I finally did it! I purchased the heavy duty Emu springs and shocks to give my '96Discovery 1se the height after long deliberation. So now I've gone from the medium duty suspention to the H.D. I have plans on trimming my wells but what I want to know now with the Emu H.D. Spring's 'n shock's what is the widest and tallest tire I can put on my Disco for the mud and suger sand down here in Florida.I'd like to try to keep my Land Rover alloy rims but, if I have to I'll purchase the blk nato steel rims to mount the rubber on.So I'm opened to suggestions? I will be doing the differentials with T.T.'rs so will I need to do gearing as well with these tires? Thank's for your time thought's and suggestions. Alexander Inglis "Happy Trail's To You." 265/75/16 about 32 tall and wide, just a little trim or spacing of the rear body and you will be fine Peter. |

Do you "need" to trim the front bumper endcaps as well? I just installed these (Bridgestone 265/75 Dueler A/Ts)... the rear was already trimmed, having 245/75s. The front has about 1" from the center of tire to the endcap. Otherwise, they look great and the ride is much improved! Thanks! W2 99D1 w/ OME HD 2" lift Orlando, FL |

I paid about $580 (not including shipping). Got mine from EE. I installed it myself in about 5 hours using a couple of spring compressors, a hydraulic floor jack and a couple of jack stands. Fairly easy to do, just ensure you don't over-extend the brake and ABS lines. |

I have 245/75's and no trimming was needed with the HD socks and springs. |

I have the OME HD set as well. Got about three inches of lift. I got a great buy on some lightly used 255-85 BFG MTs and use the alloy wheels. They will rub the frame if you turn real sharp, and I did the rear fender relocation trick. The only problem is with the front bumper end caps, they will need slight trimming. There is a noticable drop in power when cruising uphill on the highway in 5th gear (I have the manual trans)but not a big deal. No problem with power off road. Gives the truck even more lift. Gary |
