Tried everything else - but the fuel pump keeps cutting out! Is this even an option?

You can always run a switched hot wire to the fuel pump, this will also work as a thift deterent, unless you label the switch as fuel pump switch in large bold letters..... |

That would stop the truck from flooding if ignition was on and truck wasn't running - right!!! |

sounds like a serious problem. you can certainly wire it this way to get yourself out of trouble but i would not look at that as a good fix, but a bandaid could it be a relay or a wire loose or something? what have you done to figure that it's not simply a dying fuel pump? rob |

Actually since the fuel pump in most vehicles come on when the key is on (not just the motor running) This should not be an issue with flooding the engine. Of course as Rob put is I would make sure that all else is working before I went with the other route. And if you do fix it with my suggestion, please either insert a curcuit breaker or a fuse. |

We have replaced fuel pump, filter, alternator, battery, fuses, we switched relays, checked wires from ignition to coil coil to ECU, connector to pump, in addition we checked the alarm - battery was low but it was operating correctly. Can't imagine what else to do but a jump - closest rover dealer is 60 miles - and this truck only runs for a minute and the fuel pump cuts out! I am willing to try anything at this point - it's starting to get expensive and we still can't get the pump to stay on! |
