I have a 1990 RRC that started making a noise only when I give it gas. The noise picks up pace according to the amount of gas given. The weird thing is that I don't hear the noise when the car is at idle, or even at highway speeds when my foot is off the gas. Anyone know what it might be? |

I have no advice but mine is doing the same thing. One educated guess from a co-worker was that the cat was failing and there was a lose piece in there. Mine is silent at idle but when accelerating, it sounds like it is clanging away. It happens standing still and revving with my foot on the brakes so drivetrain is out. |

most likly the gasket where the exhaust meets the manifold is worn out or missing. they are very cheap, buy 2 new ones and change the old ones out. it could be another exhaust related issue too. the clanging rattling is most likely the cat. rd |
