I own a 2001 Disco2 with 27,000 miles. It is due for its 30,000 mile service soon and I was wondering what services typically need to be performed? I don't want to go on just what the dealer says needs to be done ($$). The car is still on warranty - should that cover everything accept oil/filters/tires etc.? Thanks in advance, Chris K. |

Usually for a 30K mile service, they (dealers and/or mechanics) perform the routine tune up procedures i.e., oil, filter, plugs, wires, check fluids, engine diagnostics, lube fittings, tires, etc. Basically nothing major. A regular mechanic whose Rover-knowlegable could perform that job. The dealer on the other hand could bite and push the issue that it is not covered under warranty. |

Well, if you look at the service guide, they change all fluids, change the plugs & wires, change the air filter, oil filter and trans filter, and check all systems on the 30k service. The dealer charges vary, but seem to be around $450 to $800 depending on dealer and location. |

I just had the 30k done in June on my 2001 DII. Land Rover Richmond charged just under $400 for it. -Tommy |
