I needed a new coolant temp sensor (topside) to fix a check engine light- stopped by autozone just for s$#ts and grins- guess what- they stock the part! and it's only $26.00- I’ve seen up to 100- yup there is a lesser god in the Rover pantheon which cares for us non dealer-going crowd... don't have the part # but the autozone part is manufactured in the UK and is an exact replacement-

I just replaced my power steering pump (original had the bearing seize and the pulley sheared off) with one from Autozone.

Dealer wanted $630, Autozone wanted $175 and it has a "lifetime" warranty... so my next one(s) will be FREE!

Does the coolant temp sensor control what the gauge reads inside the vehicle.
