Thanks Glenn! We didn't either, well not one that strong anyway! That was the biggest one to ever hit Maryland! Pretty crazy stuff that's for sure.

I always blame the weird weather patterns to the excessive use of Hair Spray back in the 80's... (lol)

Hey Guys! Thanks for the shout out Heather, and glad to know you're O.k., too. It was nerve-wracking waiting for the storm, horses battened down as best we could, small animals in carriers in the most internal closet we have. Then the goddamned news broadcast STOPPED tracking the storm, and went back to regular programming! RIGHT as it was bearing down on us! All four D.C. networks heard from me about it later. It hit my little town, but ran South of our farm. We did have debris fall on our place though, insulation and some shingle pieces. The news reported a deposit slip from the La Plata bank fell into a yard in Delaware! A million scary stories from customers and neighbors, to include cows sucked away, horses injured and of course the flattening of many, many buildings. I've seen some of the damage on this side of the river, but La Plata, poor beautiful little town, is the big winner in the shit jackpot. It's incredible the damage there.

Glad to hear you're OK, Karen. We've survived numerous similar "events" here in Kansas. (Have seen Dorothy and Toto fly by several times.) Note to all: Don't ever take tornado warnings lightly. Find shelter and keep your heads down. Help each other with clean-up afterward.

Wow..... and I was ticked about the hail-storm that caught us in Laura's new car on Sunday afternoon, even though it didn't do any damage, just scared her silly... now I feel silly over something that little, compared to what skated by you. I really feel bad for those that got caught...

REALLY glad you're okay. :)

Glad to hear you are ok Karen, you had us worried! I grew up around LaPlata too, graduated from LaPlata High which is now closed from the damage :(. I have heard that the town folks are in good spirits even with all that has happened so LaPlata will make a good recovery I'm sure :).

Heather :)

WOW, you guys are really nice to be so concerned, thanks! Heather, I had no idea you were a La Plata girl, and Kyle's a local boy, too! Beautiful little town, I hope they can rebuild it like it was before Sunday. We so far have been the lucky ones, but more nasty weather is being forecast for today. Already schools in some areas are closing early. The weather people are saying the conditions today are virtually identical to those on Sunday evening when the F-5 rolled through here. This is SO uncharacteristic for this area. I don't know how you mid-Westerners cope with the uncertainties so well. A hurricane you have time to move away from, but this twister stuff I can live without. God knows the clean-up crews don't need this sort of help. I'm thinking my riding lesson schedule today might be unmounted, just in case it hits the fan....

LOL, Kim that was funny :)! Yeah Karen I just heard on the radio that they have issued a tornado warning for DC, Western and Central Maryland. Charles County closed all after school activities. Oh,,, and just for the record Kyle and I both were running like our ass's were on fire trying to get both trucks out of the hail :) :).

Hmmm. Now that's a visual I could have done without. Kyle running, with flames coming out of his ass.

Sorry. Just trying to lighten the mood.

This damn strange weather(!) Well, good luck to you guys ... batten down the hatches again ...

Kim
I think I'm in agreement with Glenn's theory on the cause of the strange weather ... hell, I probably contributed to a majority of it, during the 80's, LOL (I have a couple of 'big hair' pictures that just make me shiver ...)

LOL...Kim, Did you burn them [pictures] yet?

Speaking of tornados, I just heard that here in North Jersey, Tornado warning is in effect until 9:00 p.m. So, if anyone from this area is still burning some midnight oil at work, I think you better start heading home. They said it'll be just like what MD got if it ever touches down. Hopefully everyone will be safe.

I wonder what's next, blizzard in August?

LOL, flames coming out asses, big hair, summer blizzards (hail? hmmmmm), Kim's got the tremors, we're really going to Hell! Luckily no bad storms came south tonight, though the predictions were so lousy I canceled lessons. Large hail was falling near D.C., so once more my Disco was parked in my indoor arena. World's biggest garage for one vehicle, but we knocked over the old garage a few years ago. I'll be damned if hail will wreck my Disco, I waited too long to own it! Besides, Heather's too far away to come a runnin' if the ice starts falling from the sky!

Chicken Little Jones :) P.S. Speaking of hair, I saw the WORST mullet EVER on a kid today! He was about nine years old, and had a perfect haircut for the first half, and about 16 inches of looooong hair emanating from the lower half of his head. Now THAT was something the tornado could have carried off......

As for the big hair dayz I have some awful pics too, none that I want to share of course but I am guilty as well hehe :),,, and yeah Karen if you did live close by all you would have to do when hail is fallng is watch for fire balls coming your way to take cover,,, :) :)
