Shaking on start up

Author Message   Christian Kiely (Redrover47) New Member Username: Redrover47 Post Number: 13 Registered: 09-2003 Posted on Wednesday, October 08, 2003 - 07:25 pm:    I have a 2001 D2 w/ 27,000 miles (purchased in June) and just recently I noticed that when I start the engine after being garaged for the night and put it in reverse, the car shakes/vibrates. If I put the car back in park and wait a few minutes with the engine on, the problem goes away. However, the Service Engine Soon light came on just after the problem started and was illuminated intermittently. Now it flashes for about a minute when I start the car and then stays solid. Any Ideas? My fuelpump was on the blink and I had to replace it. My 97 would shake and shutter for a while and then it would stop shaking after I started driving it and gave her some gas. My service engine light never came on as it is doing in your situation.
