D2 questions

My first was a 96 D1 5sp. Anyhow, my mother wants to get rid of her 01 SE and I going to buy it from her. I have of course driven it countless times over the past couple years and am familiar with the service history as I was usually the one bringing it in for service. It leaks nothing believe it or not and actually never has. Oil does not even collect anywhere on the underside of the engine. It is now 4k out of warranty (54K) and I dont expect much trouble out of it. The only time it went in for an unscheluded service was when the impeller in the water pump broke and shot through the radiator. Other than that, it has been basically perfect, as was my 96. I must have good luck. The front propshaft was replaced right before warranty went out. I have basically two questions, first, would it be ok to start using synthetic oil in it? Also, it has a slight vibe at 65 that goes away then comes back about 80. It has new General Grabber STs, so I doubt it is the tires. Any thoughts? I know the tires are not great, but I picked them out as a reasonably priced choice for the highway. They do ride a whole lot better than the Michelins that came on it.......of course 50k out of original equipment tires is pretty darn good. I guess I was wondering hypothetically what else it could be besides tires, and what yall thought about the synthetic. Also, what weight? Anyone use that Lucas stabilizer on newer Discos? Thanks for any info.
