The Chrysler dealer that sold me my pig told my wife the problem with the steering on my Disco is that there is too much play between the pitman arm and the draglink. (it wanders and pulls)

I assume there is a tie-rod or balljoint or whatever in between there.

Is this hard to replace? Is there something I can try and tighten first? If I try to tighten it what do I tighten (pictures are nice) Anyone have a write up? I can follow directions but mostly useless otherwise.

No Rover dealers anywhere near me.

Tie rod ends are not hard - can be a pain in the ass if frozen in the drag link, but take the entire link off and do the work on the bench. Sometimes heat and a pipe wrench will be necessary if they are frozen.

Greasable tie rod ends available reasonably from DAP. If they are all original - I'd replace all 4 tie rod ends.

Also - play can be in the steering box itself - adjusted by the nut on the top of the box. Other candidates are steering damper, swivel preload, tire pressure and condition, radius arm, trailing arm, and panhard rod bushings.
