As told to me by my wife:

Drove the 1997 LR Disco to the local home improvement shop (a very short trip under a mile). The disco was cold when it started and then shut off while my wife was in the store for about ten minutes.

She tries to start the truck but it cranks and will not catch. It finally started on attempt number two.

Any ideas as to why? Is this a sign of something to come? The only thing I can possibly come up with would be a fuel pump check valve (when this goes south in my audi it causes similar symptoms.)

All opinions/comments/thoughts appreciated.

Try the fuel temp sensor,it's primary function is tell the ecu the fuel is hot. Ecu adjusts mixture so it doesn't flood.

Looks like the water temp sensor but is on the fuel rail.

I've been having a similar problem. It'll have a hard time starting when hot, but it's totally random. I can usually just shut the ignition off, and turn it back on and it'll start like nothing. Has me worried, but I might replace the fuel temp sensor considering all the fuel components are new
