Anyone running their truck on a OME 2 inch HD lift on stock tires have pictures of how it looks? How is the handling compared to the stock height? |

Hi Kevin, I just put OME 2" lift with 760's front & 762's rear. great set up. nose is lower than rear although the rear will drop a bit when loaded up. Seems much more stable. I still have stock tyres on, they prob have 10-50,000 left in em so I am undecided on whether to chnge or leave. (my wife is keen to "LEAVE THEM ALONE"!) still...it is a pretty good setup, I think. The only thing is now I really notice (in the back) how much better it'll be when the 32" go on - the tyres look pretty small.

I have just fitted 764 to rear and 761 to front. Up 21/2 inches. OME shocks too N45 front n44 rear I think No bars, standard 235 tyres.1998 series 1, 3.9 V8 auto. Rides great, handles bumps better, corners tighter, A little bit harsher on rough bitumen but on gravel roads OK. Very pleased, my wife is too. Bazzle

Been running the OME 2" lift for a year on D2. I have two sets of rims/tires. onroad using stock with 255/65-16 Michelin cross-terrain suvs and off road with 265/75-16 Mud Kings. I think the road tires look puny with the lift, but I don't really care, I think it handles better with the HD kit on. Mud Kings look great on it and perform great, but handling is a little less comfortable. Braking is diminished with Mud Kings. |

Thanks for all the great feedback guys! i'm definitly getting the OME hd lift now. The trucks been parked on the street too long, cause the old shocks make the tire treads all weird shaped and uneven. Poor lil' thing needs to get back on the road again! |

Wait Kevin, do you still have the stock Goodyear Wrangler HPs on the truck? If you do, then it is NOT your shocks causing the wear. The tires are CRAP. We've all been thru it, uneven cupping and wear, usually caused by a lack of attention to PERFECT air pressure in the tires. Do a search on here and you will find lot's of info about the dreaded HPs. (But do the OME swap anyway, you will never regret it, but followup immediatly with new tires to get the full affect.) |

If you do this lift what else is needed besides springs and shocks? I am looking at this also and what spring #'s are you looking at? Why do you not go with the Extra HD springs? Thanks guys, I would like to see more pics myself if anyone has them. |

Rans, I am not using wranglers, i have a 98' D1 SE, i got new Michelin Syncrones about a year ago, during the time i've been driving with the synchrones, i had my shocks that came stock witht he truck on it, they have more than 90,000 miles on it so they are very worn. a mechanic that does the tuning and fixing for all our cars said the shocks were causing our tires to be eaten up, i've also been keeping the right amount of air in the tires. Thanks for the help though Rans! |

My dad was looking, at the bilstein set with shocks and springs from rovers north. It was 370 vs the ome's for 580, bt considerng the price difference, i was wondering what the difference is. I don't have a lot of knowledge abot the bilstein shocks, so any help wold be great. Thanks! |

Kevin I just went to RN and the only thing I saw for $375 was Bilstien shocks and steeing damper. No springs. The $580 is a complete kit springs and all, from what I can see on the web site. |
