Background: 97 disco driven thru 16-18 inches of water. Runs fine and I stop about 5 minutes later and turn the ignition off. 45 min later attempt to start. When I turn to key to the on position I hear a clicking noise from the front area of the engine. It seems to be about one click every 1/2 to 1 second. Turn key to start position and engine does not turn. However, if I wait about 15 seconds I hear a whirring noise from front of engine as though a fan is on but cooling fan is not running but now engine will turn over but not start. Can smell gasoline. I assume that I have a wet relay or other ignition componant. Anyone have any idea as to where problem lies and how to dry it out? Thanks, Rudd Thabes |
