I ran a search but didn't pull up much...

I've had the high idle problem since birth. On cold start up the engine would idle at about 2K and drop to 1500K after a few moments. If the engine warmed up and was stopped and then started again the idle would be perfect. But not while cold. (I have not yet cleaned the stepper motor... but I plan to honest! :-) ).

Recently the beast started to develop a hot start problem (it would refuse to start easily if driven a very short distance and then turned back on).

And now, last night the speedo began jumping all around the place.

My question: are these problems related (as in could the VSS cause all three problems?) or am I looking at three seperate problems? (Stepper motor, fuel/sensor/valve, & VSS).

Any help appreciated, and any info on the best place to buy a new VSS would be great.

The speedo has not had another fit since it's first and only jump around the dial. Could it have just been a fluke? TIA

the speedo is linked to the vss only but the rest of the stuff maybe someone else could help out. if the truck starts cutting out like some one cutting off the gass while driving it is vss.

and also mine would rev high then go low and rev high when i was going down a hill with my foot off the gas and this was vss too.
