Right on the back of the center cubby in between the seats. I put mine there and it works great. the wires run under the would be passenger seat to the fuse box then if you mount the cb in the back of the tire mount or ladder you can run it under the carpet and there is no visible wires to be seen.

I prefer on the side of the tranny tunnel, passenger side. Easier to get to the controls and see the display in that location while driving. Somebody is selling a mounting bracket for that location so you don't have to drill anything. See the "For Sale" section.

I put mine on the back of the cubby also - no holes need to be drilled !.The power leads run under the centre console and the antenna lead runs under the carpets to a mount on the spare tyre bracket.Email me if you want to see it, I'm in Geelong.

Garnet,

I chose to install the Cobra 75 under the Drivers seat. That is the model in which all the controls are located on the Handset. I have the handset hanging on the coin box using a Sprint PCS Phone adapter. This location is not in the way of anything and I can hear everything quite well.

To install the CB antenna, I followed EE's Tech section and it worked great.

You have to have a proper ground for the antenna and antenna performance will be improved if tuned properly with a SWR meter.

Hope this helps.............

I put mine in the same place as Garrett's, but on the driver's side.
My legs never hit it or anything. I don't even know it is there.
