Ok, I was crawling around under the Disco and saw this round thing hanging from my front axle. It looks like a dumb bell weight bolted to the side of a bracket. What is this for, at first I thought it might be some type of rolloer for going over something so the bottom does not hit but this thing does not move. Thanks |

scott, for what it's worth, i asked that same question when i bought my disco. "WTF is that, i've never seen one of those on any domestic vehicle?" well an old Bently/Royce mechanic that i work with explained much like Thom did. if you routinely use off road, i would remove (most just tear off anyway). if it's a grocery getter, then just leave it be. mine tore off the second time i took it off road (just hung there by the little wire strap). sits in my drawer of used rover parts now. marc |

may or may not get vibes. of all the guys i trail with, none of us have it and none have had any adverse afects. for what it's worth, most HD steering rod setups, rock guards etc... require this to be removed. hope that helps marc |
