My D2 rear cargo lamp has never worked. Dealership said it has lost a ground or never had one. Since I am home this afternoon and working on some other stuff, I decided to take it apart and see if I could locate the problem and fix it myself. I think I may have found the problem. The contacts are very dirty and there is dried glue on the coppery part of the interior switch. I'd like to clean it and then put it back together to see if it will work. When I took it apart, I removed the light cover, removed the 2 nuts holding it to ceiling, and unplugged the yellow plug. After that section was out of my truck, I removed the 3 screws holding the back on, then the last of it came apart too quickly for me to see where the last 3 pieces came from. Now I can't figure out how to put those pieces back together. Those peices are: a little silver ball, a little gold piece that has three round indentations on it (the piece itself is "U" shaped), and a tiny little spring (there are a total of 2 springs in it - the one wedged into the switch itself remains secured where it should be). Does anyone one know how to put those 3 pieces back together? Any suggestions on what I should use to clean the contacts?? Thanks in advance, Jamie
