A friend called me last night because he's looking at a 1997 Discovery, stock with all the extras (top of the line model, whatever the designation is), 70+ thousand miles, asking price is $8600. What are your thoughts on this deal? And what are the things he should look for on a 97? Thanks! |

$8600 for and SE7 if that is the one he is looking at, is not a bad deal. I paid $9200 for mine back in May with 80k on it SE7. The only issues I have had was a fuel filter, air filter, s-belt and CDL lever was stuck. |

Thats a great deal. I have an 97 SE7 I got it new. I now have 111,000k. It's been a great truck. No problems other than the usual maintance items. |

My 97 has 100k and the only thing that needed to be replaced was the alternator, You might be looking at a good one, mabey someone at a dealer could run the vin for you and tell you all that has been done under warrenty, this may be a good indicator of maintenance. Peter. |
