It's getting that time of year up here, and my wife gets a little perturbed when I start my truck in the morning still in my shorts from the bedroom window.

Command starts have come down in price, but I'm wondering if anyone here has installed one on their Disco, if so, what type?

cheers

I felt sorry that you haven't had any responses to your post so I thought I would at least post something for you.

No. I have not intalled one of these yet. But it seems like a good idea. Why don't you give it a try and let us know about it?

Living down here in Phoenix, AZ (we are still getting over 100 degree days here), I would be interested in this as well. If you end up installing something, please let me know.

Good luck...

I'm installing one next week, I'll let you know how it goes, the guy said that I needed to replace my remote because it needs a third button? for the starter, It'll be around $200 for the whole thing, but I might want one with the alarm as well, so it all will depend on my budget and mood on that day

Clay:

I thought it was just us folks up North (Northern Ontario) that got into remote start because of gawdawful cold. But your note pointed out to me that you guys are the reverse with the gawdawful heat. Guess remote start to get the old air going would be as handy as setting into a truck with the heat going.

And just so everyone can feel sorry for us. As you sit there in 100F heat, I'm typing this with 0C temps outside and its frickin' snowing!

You need not only the remote starter but also the immobilizer bypass. That's another $50 box. It's not much but it complicates the install of just the remote starter.

Thats what I was wondering Milan, if there was anything "extra" needed for the Disco. My crew cab came with a viper remote start that has the keyless entry integrated with the remote start.
The viper is a nice unit, but doesn't have the range that other units have, I have to be within 200' usually, some of the guys at work start their vehicles from 1000'. With the diesel it also has to wait for the GP's to cycle.
