this morning i hoped into my 96 disco and headed off to work and was surprised by my little amber friend the check engine light. The rover runs fine, at least no different then it did last night. what commonly triggers the check engine light? i put new plugs and wires in it on saturday but i had driven it a few times since then with no light. since this is my first engine light occurence i would like to get any input i can as to what the common causes are. also where can i go to get the codes pulled other than the LR dealer? |

Any auto zone or most auto parts stores will read the codes and remove them as well. The list of things that can trigger a Check Engine Light is longer than anyone can post....This goes for just about any vehicle. |

Does anyone know how to turn off the check engine light. I drive a 95 D1 and nothing is wrong no codes. The light is bugging me when a I drive. |

Is it the Check engine of the Service Engine light. If Check engine, then you should be getting a code and then it can be cleared. If Service Engine, then look in the Tech section and it will explain how to turn off. |

Check the wires to make sure they are on all the way. When I put Magnecores on alyssa's truck one popped off because the seal was so good (with the nice boots and dielectric grease) that it had air pressure in it and popped it off. Ron |
