I recently had the LR dealership take off the factory running boards since they will get in the way when I go off-roading. However I'm not sure why they are so long. There are 4 of them sticking out underneath my '03 Disco basically one in each corner. I thought this might go to the running boards but these bolts appear to be permanently attached. Also, they look like they are holding up part of the frame but why are they so long? My fear is that these will get knocked off the first hard rock I hit. Thanks for any insight...

Those bolts are for the running boards. They have a threaded female end that screw on to existing body mount bolts. They should have been removed. What dealer was it? Just curious. |

Hey Mike, thanks for the help. I will go ahead and remove the bolt. It was the LR dealer in North Scottsdale (Phoenix). Regards... |
