Just switched from an auto D1 to a manual D90 and read that I needed to install the flywheel wading plug for deep water. I asked the mechanic at the Clorado Springs dealership about it and he says no NAS D90 had them instaled. Is he right? Anyone out there with a R380 know if they have the plug instaled or not. I would like to do some wading this weekend so any help would be apreciated. Cheers

Hey Sean,

No Wading plug on the NAS Defender 90 with the R380 Transmission. There is a small weep hole at the base of the bellhousing that will let the water back out, though it was designed to let the oil out that leaks from the rear main seal of the motor and/or the input shaft seal of the transmission. At least its not like Land Rover even thinks their seals work....

Scott,
Thanks for clearing that up, seals are overrated anyhow.
