The top one is Greg Collin's. He is a member of Carolina Rover Owner's Club (CROC). That's the new club that has formed from the two previous clubs. They sponsored the Uwharrie Safari event. The bottom one is mine. You can see more pics in my gallery. But be warned, most shots are in my driveway! |

Actually, I've had the oppertunity recently to look at a Gwagon recently up close and personal. It is built by Pinzgauer, not mercedes, and it's Maximum sustained hill climb angle dosn't even approach the discovery's stock side tilt angle (which is more than you might think on tarmac, about 45 degrees.) The gwagon climbs at a steady 33 degrees, any more for a long poeriod of time and the engine dosn't lubricate. The G wagon is like a hummer, in that it traded off road preformance for military versitility. I drive hummers in the military, and even had the oppertunity to buy one, but there not really all that. A defender could burn one anyday. |

Kennith- I think you have the models and manufacturers confused... this is the G-wagon: It is built by Daimler-Benz
This is the Pinzgauer:
This is the Unimog, also Daimler-Benz, (what I assume your are comparing to a hummer even though they are nothing alike:

I think the G's are actually built by Steyr-Puch (Sp?) in Austria, but I could be wrong. Daimler-Chrysler owns the name, but they don't build them. |
