I have a 94 Disco series I . im replacing my stock radio with a pioneer cd player with xm because it didnt come with a cd changer. does anyone know if it is possible to use the remote power lead for the antenna or the ill lead from the new unit to power on the original amp? if so does anyone know which pin it is on the amp that turns it on? |

unless someone tells me different u have to bypass the amp it is useless with aftermarket stereo. remote lead in aftermarket is different then factory and won't power on amp. |

I was able to power up my factory amp, via my Alpine head unit. But mine was a 2000 DII, so I don't know how similar it is to yours. Also I don't remember which wire it was, so you basically have to start testing wires until you find the right one. -Stuart |

you do not have to bypass the amps. i have an alpine that is in my 96 and the only thing that i had to add was a line level convertor. do a search, it's been posted before. |

You are better off to bypass the stock amps. |

the stock amps suck anyway and your new head unit has a better amp built into it |
