I have recently started smelling coolant thru the vents (while fan on, no A/C, just fan), and when to a stop. I have had overheating problems when running A/C, still unsolved. I am checking the coolant level and it need refiling at least every two weeks. There are "not" noticeable coolant leak, I have looked under the car, parking spot and nothing. Any suggestions?

look on the top of the motor and towards the rear of it to see it any is pooling and burning off. check under the truck to and see if any is running down on the exhaust and burning off. it will leave a white residue if so.

I have a 96 and experienced the same thing. The cause of that is a leak in the intake manifold gasket. You need to replace the gasket or just keep on adding the coolant. You can also try to retorque the screws at each end. |
