My 03 SE came with the 18" wheels, for which I could not find decent tires. After hearing some conflicting advice, I learned on this board that I could use 16" wheels, and I picked some up on e-bay. The next issue is tire size, and there is conflicting information on this too. The Tech section suggests there may be rubbing with 265/75, while some here report no problems running them without lift. Bridgestone makes 255/70, 265/70 and 265/75 Dueler Revos which scored high on tire rack's survey. Will the 265/75 fit without rubbing? Which size is the best choice? Thank you. |

I drive in mud and snow and have about a 20 minute highway drive to work. Except for wheels, truck is stock. I may do the OME lift, but not before next summer. |

Do the lift first, then get the tires. If your going to do a lift, get 265/75. there may be rubbing on the front with them without a lift. 255/70/16 is fine. 285/60/18 would prob fit also and you wont need to get new wheels. -Rick |

Thanks, Rick. I can't really do the lift now, but I want tires before it starts snowing. The GY's are worthless in the snow. I looked at the nitto 285/60/18, but was concerned that the increase in height and width would be more likely to rub in front than the 265/75/18. Do you know anyone using the 285/60/18? |

Todd check this out 285/65R18s http://www.safarigard.com/2003DiscoII.htm it is lifted obviously. I have stock suspension and 265's they rub on the plastic a little not enough to worry. -Jim |

Jim, Do you have the 265/75-16's or something other on your '03? I have some 16's coming and need to find out what the largest size that will fit the stock '03 suspension is. Any one know if the fender cutting reccomendations apply to the '03 with it's plastic trim? Gary |

Gary, 16's and no cutting or triming with 265's. They is a guy here somewhere that flipped the plastic bracket up front so it doesnt touch,, but it barely, barley rubs not enough to worry about. If I never ever was going to lift I would do 265/70's BFG AT/KO. This is a shade shorter in height but that size in BFG only comes in A.T. not MUDS which is what I have and I plan on lifting someday so the 265/75's made it an easy choice. Keep in mind your spare tire carrier will need to be flipped to accomidate the taller tire. EE has a awesome write up. Good luck. -Jim |

I'm running them, and I've been doing quite a bit of moderate off-roading with very little rubbing. By very little, I mean that I have rubbed maybe twice on my right rear when in a tight spot. For street, I get no rubbing at all. You might need to adust your steering stops. I haven't done mine yet. Kenny |

Thanks for the info guys. I am planning on a lift so will go with the 265/75's. I was considering the BFG AT KO's but may also look at others in the same size. Is there a concensous on what tire is best for combo on/off road use? I have heard people both raving and hating the BFG AT's. Gary. |
