I have a '99 D2 w/ cold climate pkg. This morning I found out that the rear defroster and the driver's side view mirror heater arent working. Common problem? Place to start chasing down the cause? It can become a frozen wasteland around here so I am greatfull for the help! |

Haven't checked them yet, but I would think both mirrors work off of the same fuse. Anyway unless someone chimes in with same problem and diferent solution, that's where I'll start. |

Put a meter or test light on the exposed wire connectors on the rear defroster, push the defroster button, and see if you get power back there. If not, fuse or bad switch. When I bought my 96 last year the rear defroster didn't work. Dealer agreed to fix, which was new rear glass (idiots). It still didn't work afterward and I lost faith in them. Tested it myself, found the bad dash switch. joe |
