How much does it take to fill with oil after oil change? I read some where it was 8qts. but I can not find it again in the search. Thanks One more stupid question, Is the Haynes Discovery shop manual in english it probaly is but just wanted to ask. Thanks again ALL. |

well it just under 8 quarts with new filter install. just drain oil slap on new filter add 7 1/2 quarts start engine let run for about 20 secs turn off and check dip stick and add some if ya need it |

6 qts fills mine after a change, plus some in the filter. Try 6 qts, check it, if it's ok start it and let it run, then check again and top off if necessary. joe |

My 97 will hold 5 1/2q. with a new filter. My 99 will hold 6q with a new filer. I have wondered if the dip sticks were the same on the two trucks. But 8 quarts seems like alot. |

i don't know why i typed that i ment 6.5 quarts start then add to ..well to get tech. 6.95 quarts ..i must have been tired after working all night or maybe just compensating for the oil that prob. leaks here and there |
